Double AAdvantage Miles between Chicago & Watertown, NY, Birthplace of the Five & Dime

I have to admit that until I saw this offer, I had never even heard of Watertown, NY.  I don’t mean that as a slight (I come from a place that most people have never heard of) it’s just that other than the fact that the offer made it obvious that it was located somewhere in the state of New York, I knew absolutely nothing else about the city.

  1. Watertown is not where the Miracle On Ice occurred; it was at the Olympic Center in Lake Placid. Also Fort Ticonderoga is over 180 mi. from Watertown. Looks like you only have “8 things you should know about Watertown” 🙂

    1. @ mangoMan – LOL, you’re right. I was reading from the Watertown tourist site and didn’t realize that they were describing regional attractions rather than their own.

So now we’re down to just “8 things worth knowing about Watertown” and I’m reminded of the scene from History of the World Part 1 where Moses is given the 15 Commandments:

God- I shall give you my laws, and you shall take them unto the people.
      Moses- Yes, Lord!
Moses – The lord Jehovah has given unto you these fifteen… (drops stone tablet) Oy. Ten! Ten commandments for all to obey!

This is bad news for both me and Watertown: I was wrong and now Watertown doesn’t seem as exciting as it once did;-)

Thanks for the correction and for reading the blog!

    1. @ Jason – Nice! Probably the only American Airlines destination with a “Fresh Pine Scent”. Now were up “9 Things everyone should know about Watertown” . Thanks!
