Photos: American introduces some new premium class meals on flights to China
American has refreshed their international premium class menu and added some new meal items on flights to China. Here’s a look, do you see anything that looks tasty?
Ginger Scallops with Fried Egg Noodles, Asparagus, and Mixed Peppers
Sichuan Chicken with Black Sesame Rice and Wok Vegetables
Pork Belly with Steamed Rice and Vegetables
Char Sui Chicken Cold Plate
Pork Dumplings
Cinnamon Apple Crepes with Papaya
Southpoint Chowder
The southpoint chowder (from what I understand is a creamy seafood chowder) sounds REALLY good right now.
Char Siu Chicken? So AA went from Duck to Chicken. Give us real Char Siu, as in PORK!
@ Jake – I had never heard of Southpoint Chowder and had to look it up. I found a recipe from American Airlines’ consulting chef Sam Choy, and after reading the ingredients, I think I REALLY need to try it!
@ TFD – I had the same reaction…Char Siu Chicken? Hmmmmm…. It might not be authentic but it’s certainly ‘creative’! 😉
@ nikos – They do look tasty!
Ginger scallops looks great! Yum.
Pork belly and chowder looks very tasty to me.
Sounds and looks much better than the options we had on our Japan flights with AA.
WTF? They all look great in the promo shots, but they won’t look like that on the airplane. Let’s also be clear here about “Premium Class.” That does NOT mean premium Economy class. What was the first clue? Use of the word, ‘scallop.’ Three of those plates would make a good meal…
Presentation is pretty poor here and I can’t imagine what it will look like on the plane. Unless this is for Y.
Also, I hope they will put in actual rice cookers on the plane. Reheated rice rarely tastes good.
Those portions look way too small to be a full C/F meal..
Hello, after reading this awesome piece of writing
i am as well cheerful to share my familiarity here with colleagues.
