Video: Taking off from Boeing Field in an American Airlines 777-300ER

Boeing hosted a delivery ceremony in Seattle yesterday as American took possession of their 6th 777-300ER.   American invited me to the event and also offered me a ride back to Dallas from Boeing Field on their Special Delivery flight AA 9777.

The flight back to DFW was like no other flight I’ve ever been on before.  American had brought along about 120 employees, who had been selected from across the organization as a recognition for their job performance during the restructuring.  So I got to meet lots of nice AA folks, including members of the inflight services team, a wonderful agent from international AAdvantage awards, the Facilities Manager for the reservations center in Dallas, flight attendants, gate agents, and a delightful woman that used to work at the LAX Flagship Check-in desk who has met just about every celebrity in Hollywood.

We got to walk around and explore the airplane….who would have thought that Main Cabin could be so much fun!  My next flight will seem a little dull after this….

It was a beautiful day to fly, the weather was perfect, and the views of Mount Rainier and Mount St. Helens were spectacular.

I took plenty of photos which I’ll share with you next week, but one of the highlights of the experience was taking off from Boeing Field.   Enjoy.

I know many of you may be at FTU this weekend, and that some of you may be in Dallas for a BBQ….whatever you’re doing I hope you have a great weekend!

  1. Looks better than the CX I just flew ORD-HKG-JFK. Seats seem similar, but CX food/service was crap. Time to use AAdvantage miles instead with a connection elsewhere, like NRT? Know what I’m sayin’?
