If you’re passing through the LAX Admirals Club today….

Martini

The LAX Admirals Club is hosting an event today that I’m sure would earn the Weekly Flyer’s approval:

LAX Mixing It Up with Matt 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Matt Martinez is a liquor industry veteran with over 20 years experience. Matt spent 16 years behind the bar and has run the beverage programs for both the Beverly Hills Hotel and Gordon Ramsay. Matt has been awarded the titles of Grand Mixologist by Travel and Leisure Magazine (2007) and Top 10 Trend Setting Mixologists 2008 by Beverage Media Group. He has been featured in periodicals such as the Robb Report and Los Angeles Times Food & Wine section.

Matt currently works as Brand Development Manager and Mixologist for Young’s Market Co. He will be working with the LAX bartenders today from 3 – 6. See you at the bar!

  1. Definitely gets our seal of approval!

Nice event and thanks for the tip. Too bad I’m not in LAX on a Tuesday evening or I could get into the club with my new Platinum American Express credit card 🙂

  2. On the same note tomorrow at ORD Admiral’s Club there will be beer tasting. I think I will stay air side for a little while after my flight lands. Maybe they can put my “tastes” in just a nice large pint glass 🙂

  3. @ perryplatypus – Tasting and evaluating beer is a serious science, it requires at least one (if not two) pints if done properly. 😉

Have fun and thanks for sharing the tip about ORD!

  4. Looks like they will also be doing beer sampling at LGA today from 3-6. Have you ever seen the gourmet Omelette station at the DFW clubs? I always seem to miss it by a few days. Just interest to see how they set it up.

  5. @ Andrew – You’re right. I see the Weekly Flyer’s frequent posts from similar Sky Club events. Hope that AA keeps it up!

@ Perryplatypus – My flights out of DFW tend to be on Mondays and Tuesday. Those elusive Omelette Stations always seem to appear toward the end of the week. I keep hoping to taste one someday – it will make a great blog post!
