American Airlines reaches out to customers with new “I Believe in American” video
American has been in the news a lot lately and there’s been a fair amount of speculation about their future, but they’ve been in the headlines with good news too: record second quarter revenue, new planes, improving performance.
They just released a new video on YouTube to reach out to their customers, their employees, and the communities that they serve to let people know that they’re still around, fighting for the brand, its heritage and its future.
Also to let people know that they’re making progress.
I’ve been a Mac user since the 80’s, and the 90’s were some really tough years for Apple. I remember the effect that Apple’s Think Different campaign had when it was released. Could this be American’s “Think Different” moment?

Apple also needed a huge cash infusion post bankruptcy from Microsoft to help right the ship again. AA can only get help in a merger….
@ Ron – Microsoft’s investment was important, but more in a symbolic way rather than financial. At the time many were suggesting that Apple’s only option was to merge or agree to be purchased. I think American has a pretty good chance of succeeding on their own and based on their progress, as a customer I’d like to see them get that chance.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts..
If IAG can help out with a stake in AA, up to the maximum of foreign ownership allowed, I don’t think we’ll have to worry about US Scareways merging/buying AA.
