Some good news for the oneworld Alliance as airberlin became a full member today.  airberlin is celebrating the occasion with a promotional tour of two airplanes painted with a oneworld livery:

Since 20th March airberlin has been a full member of the oneworld Alliance. In celebration of this, two airberlin aircraft are now flying with a special oneworld exterior paint design.

Unfortunately, from the looks of the tour schedule, both planes will be staying in Europe, but you can still benefit from this Double AAdvantage Miles offer from American:

Airline: airberlin

Award: Double Miles

Bonus Code: ABDBL

    1. Hi Stuart – They originally announced a delay so that they could address some financial issues, and I’m not sure that they’ve made much progress. I suspect that’s why they haven’t joined oneworld yet. Another reason might be politics. They’re government owned and next year is an election, and some of the airline’s business decisions have become campaign issues.

I’m looking forward to the day that we can redeem our AAdvantage miles on MH. Thanks for reading!
