American has been busy upgrading amenities for international passengers in First and Business class and now they’re offering a perk to passengers riding in the back of the plane: complimentary beer and wine. From the press release:
Beginning Feb. 1, American invites customers traveling in the main cabin onboard most international flights to toast their travel with complimentary beer and wine. From a wide selection of beers to red and white wines chosen by American’s wine consultant, Ken Chase, the airline will offer many selections to give customers yet another reason to enjoy the ride.
“Offering complimentary beer and wine to our loyal customers in all classes of service allows American to better align our product offering with fellow oneworld alliance members and is another example of our commitment to enhance the travel experience,” said Rob Friedman, American’s Vice President – Marketing.
More details from their website:
Customers traveling on American-operated flights between the U.S. and Europe, the U.S. and Asia and / or onboard long-haul flights between the U.S. and Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Uruguay can choose from a variety of complimentary beer and wine options, in addition to the full selection of nonalcoholic beverages.
By the way, if you’re a wine enthusiast, you might be interested in reading the American Airlines wine list that Wine Consultant Ken Chase selected for them. I’m sure they published it before, but it’s something I didn’t notice until today.
