Summer is over and so are many of the AAdvantage bonus offers

I guess summer isn’t technically over for another few weeks but now that Labor Day has ended, college football has started, and the daily high temperature in Dallas has dropped below 100, in my mind Fall has (finally) arrived.

Another sign that it’s over is that many of the Summer 2011 AAdvantage Bonus offers have expired. Hopefully, the fall will bring some decent mileage promotions, but for now the list of current offers is kind of small.

Airline offers:

New York to Budapest – Double Miles
Earn double AAdvantage miles for roundtrip travel from Chicago to Hong Kong
New York To Tokyo Haneda – Up To 15,000 Bonus Miles
Chicago To Wilmington, NC – Double Miles
Boston To Paris – Double Miles

Hotel offers:

None.

Car rental offers:

Hertz – Save Up To 35 Percent And Earn Double Miles
Avis – Earn Up To 2000 Bonus Miles

I’ve got some travel to LA lined up for the fall, so I’d love to see a return of Double Elite Qualifying Miles between DFW and LAX. I’d also like to see a bonus miles offer for renewing Admirals Club members, but that’s pretty unlikely.

What do you hope you see?

  1. I’d love to see DEQM bonus from LAX to ORD and/or DFW extended. Right now, I am holding out to see if that happens. If not, I’m probably going to do Virgin instead of American for Chicago and Delta for my next two trips to Atlanta. I wonder what the chances are for a DEQM promo…

    1. Virgin seems intent on competing in the DFW market. They just launched a “Switch to Virgin America” website offering DFW travelers “Buy One Get One Free” to LAX and SFO.

I found this Virgin America offer on the Dallas Morning News Airline Biz Blog. Here are some of the details:

      • Promo code may only be used for bookings made on virginamerica.com and is only valid on itineraries of two guests.
      • Travel must occur between September 14, 2011 and October 27, 2011.
      • This offer ends at 11:59pm PDT on October 15, 2011.
      • This offer is valid only for D/FW to SFO/LAX nonstop or connecting travel; offer is not valid for any multi-city itineraries.

Maybe AA will respond with DEQM or some other offer of their own. Either way, it’s good for DFW travelers.

      Thanks for commenting!
