Video tour of the new American Airlines iPhone App
Here’s a short video tour of American’s new iPhone App.
I downloaded the App the day it was released. It’s not a bad version 1.0 release, some of the features like the “parking reminder” which makes use of the camera to let s you take a picture of your parking space so you can remember where you parked your car show that the developers appreciated some of the capabilities unique to the mobile platform: the App is much more than just a mobile version of the website. They also included a sudoku game so you’ve got something to keep you entertained besides the puzzle at the back of the American Way magazine.
There are a few instances where they chose to connect the App with their mobile site. If you want to make a reservation or purchase a ticket the App directs you to the mobile site and functions as little more than a browser, but overall, it’s a very good first release.
Speaking of iPhone Apps, here’s a nifty little iPhone game for aviation and travel enthusiasts:
AirportGeek is a quiz game that tests your knowledge of IATA airport codes. You’re given the name of an airport, just provide the correct three letter code to earn points, game credits and extra time.
