A look at Kosher meals on oneworld member Cathay Pacific
Earlier this year I told you about a post I read on a food blog that reviewed the Japanese meal service on American Airlines. Well, I’ve come across another interesting food related post on someone else’s blog, and I thought I’d share it with you.
Jay Cab writes the First Class Project blog and he has a look at a couple of Kosher meals served on a Cathay Pacific flight between San Francisco and Hong Kong. Go here for breakfast and here for dinner.

KSML Kosher meals all depends what the Airline uses for catering, for example Cathay JFK – HKG First Class the KSML Kosher meal was not edible and that caterer that Cathay hires sucks big time, however I heard from people that fly First Class out of Frankfurt or out of LHR and they say the Kosher meals are amazing.
It is kinda hit or miss with KSML.
I flew on CX from LAX-HKG-BKK-HKG-LAX in February and again in May. The Kosher meals out of LAX (which came from a Los Angeles based Kosher caterer named Judy’s) were barely edible. The Kosher meals out of HKG and BKK (which used a London based caterer whose name I don’t remember, and have probably blocked from my mind) were absolutely disgusting. When I brought this to the Flight Attendant’s attention, she let me know that she had been hearing this from many passengers who ordered Kosher meals. Since I am not strictly Kosher outside my home, I opted for the regular Business class meals on the May trip. What a difference.
Cathay has fantastic kosher meals ex HKG. I guess she chose the wrong direction.
“I am not worthy, I am not worthy” 🙂
Seriously, thank you so much for the feature!
More power to you and your blog! Can’t wait to read up more on all of the exciting things coming up for AA!
@ The First Class Project – Happy to share, I’m a big fan of your blog! Thanks for sharing. 😉
Air France just posted a 1 min 10 second animated video introducing their new “Bio” Organic, “Italia” and “Ocean” meals. Kind of interesting to see AF’s artistic approach to showcasing these meals. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UV2YooqN-wg
