I dont fully understand, does this only apply to one specific location?
@ Shark Cage Diving – Usually, when they require travel to begin and end in specific cities, they’ll mentions something like “travel must originate in” a specific location.
With other offers similar to this one, they’ve awarded bonus miles on the segment, even if travel starts in a city that’s not on the list.
For example, a DEN – DFW – NRT ticket will earn the usual number of miles on the DEN to DFW segment, and double AA miles on the DFW – NRT leg.
I think that’s the case with this offer, but I’ve sent a not the AAdvantage team asking them for clarification. I’ll update with a comment when I hear back from them.
Thanks for asking the question!
@ Shark Cage Diving – Just confirmed with the AAdvantage team:
Thanks again for asking.
Aadvantage geek – I have a question about aadvantage customer support, and was wondering if I could reach out to you directly. I didn’t see anything on the site which would allow me to email you directly, so I had to go to the comments. Let me know, would really appreciate your help.
@ Dave – No problem, I’ll send you an email.
So this is triple miles for those who are Plat/EXP, correct?
@ Jimgotkp – That’s correct.
Platinum and Executive Platinum members earn elite status bonus of 100% of base miles. So the net effect of this offer is triple miles for the EXP and PLT.
AAdvantage Gold members earns an elite status bonus of 25% of base miles.
Thanks for reading!
Is this promo not good for the BOS-NRT routing?
@ Rebecca D. – There’s a separate Boston – Tokyo Narita offer that’s even better because it’s not a targeted offer.

I am short for 55,000 AA points. I have already booked a business-class flight from NY to Asia. I do have enough points for outbound, looking for 55K AA on this booking which expires soon.
