I spent some time this weekend looking at the AAdvantage eShopping site and came across this offer and thought it was worth mentioning: Order The New York Times, get 50% off the regular subscription rate and earn 2,000 AAdvantage Miles.
Here’s are the details:
This introductory offer is valid only in areas served by The New York Times Delivery Service and to readers who have not had an active home delivery account within the past 90 days. Prices may vary in some regions. Some addresses in a zip code may not be serviceable. At the end of the introductory period, service will continue at our regular rate unless you cancel your subscription. You will be billed or your credit card will automatically be charged for each 4-week billing period in advance. State and local taxes will be added where applicable outside the New York metropolitan area. Prices are subject to change
I don’t subscribe to any newspapers and consume most of my news online, but I do occasionally like to buy the Sunday edition of the New York Times and spend the afternoon reading it. The way i figure it, I could buy 2,000 AAdvantage Miles for $85 ($55 plus a $30 processing fee) or spend $45 (the cost of the subscription for delivery in my area) to subscribe to something I already buy anyway, so I decided to buy a 12 week subscription to the Sunday edition.
You have to register with the AAdvantage eShopping site in order to sign up for this offer, but registration is free and it’s a good way to earn some extra miles. Be aware though, that it takes 4 – 6 weeks for the miles to post to your account, so if you’re hoping to use the miles soon, you’ll be better of buying them.
