American Upgrades Premium Cabin Dining Service on International Flights

Over the last year, American Airlines has been rolling out enhancements to the inflight experience they offer premium cabin passengers on flights to and from Europe, Asia, and South America.

Some of the improvements: new amenity kits, new pajamas, turn down service with new duvets and pillows.  Now they’re upgrading their inflight dining service with completely new meals and tableware:

Look forward to an elevated premium experience when you fly with us. When traveling in First or Business Class, you’ll enjoy more personalized service and an expanded selection of menu options served on modern china with new flatware – just one more way we’re upgrading your experience.

When traveling in First Class, you can unwind with a mimosa upon boarding, and then pair your meal with a sampling of our award-winning wines; specially selected by our wine consultant, Ken Chase. And for an extra touch, you’ll also be hand-delivered amuse bouche prior to enjoying your selections from the menu.

There’s also a new pasta option “that allows you to select from several fresh ingredients to customize your pasta just the way you like it”.

My friend Will was traveling from South America over the weekend and took a few photos of American’s new Business Class meal service. He told that me I could share them on the blog. Thanks Will!

Will gave both the service and the meal a great review. Has anyone else tried it yet?

    1. @ blueline7 – I said “new” 😉

Actually, it’s looks pretty good. I especially like the chocolates.

    1. @ Chris – Thanks for the review and for sharing your photos! I’m impressed with the bacon wrapped scallop, it looks tasty. 🙂

  1. @Tony: doesn’t look like it from the pictures. This was international J, but I do vaguely remember reading something about AA introducing better glasses in international F.

  2. Awe! If only we could back to when AA had “Dining in the Sky” with pivoting seats and a table with linens, and to a time when passengers could freely navigate the cabin and ascend to the upper deck of a 747 to sit bar side with a favorite cocktail.
